Eating Disorder Psychologist
We’re looking for an experienced eating disorder psychologist to expand our practice from a solo practitioner.
- Small, supportive team
- Clinician wellbeing caseload
- Established referral base
This role will allow you to join a small, supportive team who are passionate about eating disorder and body image recovery from a HAES perspective. You will be able to focus on seeing clients, not going to meetings, with a manageable caseload that allows you to do your best work. As this is a new position you can develop the role over time, for example by offering groups or workshops if this interests you.
We are seeking someone who models HAES principles in their own life, is committed to life long learning in this ever-changing field, and to ongoing improvement in processes. We want to offer the best therapy experience we can, for both clinicians and clients.
Finding Balance Psychology supports young people, families and adults with eating disorders and body image concerns. We provide evidence-based eating disorder therapies from a non-diet, HAES philosophy, and work with clients across the weight spectrum.
We would consider either an employee or contractor position for a fully registered psychologist, preferably with clinical endorsement or undertaking the registrar programme. We are ideally seeking someone who is experienced in delivering eating disorder therapies, including CBT-E and / or DBT and / or FBT. We support a clinician wellbeing caseload of no more than 5 attended sessions per day (or 24 attended sessions per full time week) and will monitor your caseload to ensure a mix of client presentations.
Further benefits to you:
- Extensive onboarding
- Ongoing clinical support
- Peer supervision or registrar supervision (if needed)
- Admin support by our Client Services Officer (part time)
- Extensive in-house resources
- Existing referral base with high demand in a niche area
Our office is a converted house with beautifully furnished therapy rooms. All the rooms have lots of natural light, opening windows and medical-grade sound proof doors. We also have a small kitchen, separate FBT meal room, outdoor staff eating area, separate client and staff bathrooms, free parking for staff and clients, and easy public transport links by bus or train.
If we sound like a good fit for you, please upload a cover letter and resume, both in PDF format, in the box below.
Please note we won’t respond to generic applications not addressed to us, or without a cover letter.
